Vestland Danseteater (VDT) is Bergen-Vestland's only dance and theatre ensemble dedicated to professional artists with multicultural and migrant backgrounds.

During the challenging period of 2020-2021, amidst the global pandemic, VDT successfully produced and performed two full-length dance productions. Additionally, the company organized workshops, guest lectures, and various local activities for the immigrant community in Bergen through Simba Arts.

Today, VDT operates independently with the goal of being a dynamic and alternative force in Bergen and the Vestland region. We strive to engage a wider audience than other companies, offering project-based opportunities for local dancers. These include roles in major dance productions, performances, workshops, method instruction, mentorship, and residencies, with a strong focus on international collaborations.
 
VDT’s mission aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3, 8, 5, 11, 16, and 17, aiming to empower young professional performers with minority backgrounds in the performing arts and cultural fields
in Bergen and Vestland.
